Guest Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Hi everyone, We are a small underground record label and mail order company and I've just recently got oscommerce running on our server. We hope this will replace the current online store I built years ago when there was no need for proper commerce software. Ok, the first hurdle I've come across is how to stop the layout using 100% of the browser width and how would i then centre the layout in the browser? Cheers - Richard
allaboutwicker Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Hi, I have used this contribution: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2710 I also found the following in a quick search under the Community --> Contributions section of this website: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/4942 I have not tried the second one, but it sounds fine too. Hope that helps!
Guest Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I myself do not have the greatest understanding of osCommerce but I know enough about web programming to speculate the problem you have is to be edited via CSS. You can find the rules that apply to your web page in your stylesheet.css file. In there you will be able to center and change the fluid width to a fixed width. There are two things you can do to help us to help you. First off you can go ahead and post your stylesheet so that we may see it along with a link to your site. Also if you are using FireFox I highly recommend this add on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843, its name is Firebug and it will let you test CSS styles before changes are made and will let you do a numerous amount of features that help web designers. Hope to get you started in the right direction!

Cheers - Richard Hey Richard, You might want to take a look through the Knowledge Base & Documentation section, it has a lot of neat tips. I found this there - Setting the Table Width which is what you are looking to do. - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -
