Alternate Product Pricing

Hi,

I sell tickets for an amateur theatre. I have searched to see if there is information or advice or a contribution which will allow me to sell the same product with different prices.

I want to set my stock level at 450 tickets. When an order is placed, the purchaser would indicate whether adult or child and be charged accordingly at different rates per ticket. The stock level would be reduced by the appropriate amount and the order would be charged correctly.

Thanks

You should be able to add an attribute to the product for age and age would have two values adult, child. The base price of the ticket I would set to adult so that attribute would have no cost change and the child attribute would subtract the difference. I think that should work however I have not used a negative value on an attribute.

Thanks Mike,

I appear to have done it by default using attributes in that I have set the initial price to £0.00 and then set an adult and child price attribute. This appears to have done the job.

Being pedantic, I would preferably like to remove the £0.00 display from the cart but allowing the price display once a choice has been made.

Is this possible?

In respect of this query, I sell tickets for an amateur theatre:

Once a selection has been made I think the screen displays the product_info.php page. I have set attributes in order that the purchaser on this page can either buy an adult ticket or a child ticket. However, I want to remove the price set at £0.00 off this page.

In addition is there any way for the attributes to be set so that the purchaser can actually order the relevant quantities here before actually clicking the "add to cart" button. I am finding from testing by other persons that, once in the cart, they change the quantities but don't update. Thus, the wrong quantities are ordered.

Any help most appreciated

Thanks.

Kind of new to this but I am having a similar configuration issue. Today I set up the product at the Adult Price, then under product attributes added:

Option Name: Age

Option Value #1 for Age: Adult: Over 12

Option Value #2 for Age: Child: 12 and Under

Product Attribute for OptionName-Age/OptionValue-Adult...: Value Price = 0.0

Product Attribute for OptionName-Age/OptionValue-Child...: Value Price = -10.0

This will display the correct price in the cart/checkout, however for the user to add one adult and one child ticket they have to add them to the cart separately. If you know of a way i can allow the user to select 1 child and 1 adult for the same product, and add to the cart at the same time let me know thanks. Hope this helps
