first thing !"

all the product images on your main page are hugh pics shrunk down by the coding ! this means it still has to load the same image but smaller not reducing loading time atall ! make smaller images

on your main page having so many new products for march cant be doing you any other favours !

on the other foot it could be where your host is to you ! i just did a website speed test results are below

Checked From Time (US/Central) Result KBytes Seconds Kbps

Washington, DC (3 Mbps) 12:07:36 OK 54.33 1.19 366

Santiago, Chile (760 Kbps) 12:02:53 OK 54.33 2.49 174

Dortmund, Germany (5 Mbps) 12:02:51 OK 54.33 1.33 327

Los Angeles, CA (1.5 Mbps) 13:01:33 OK 54.33 1.88 232

Beijing, China (5 Mbps) 11:59:00 OK 54.33 2.95 147

Detroit, MI (5 Mbps) 11:53:57 OK 54.33 1.45 299

Chicago, IL (45 Mbps) 12:02:52 OK 54.33 2.08 209

St. Petersburg, Russia (5 Mbps) 12:01:56 OK 54.33 1.78 244

Gloucester, UK (5 Mbps) 12:02:53 OK 54.33 1.97 221

Sydney, Australia (5 Mbps) 12:02:51 OK 54.33 2.75 158

just try and null down what is on the main page image wise and the ammount as thats not bad considering its having to check the database to make that table for you !

hope this helps

Yep install a thumbnail generator which reduces the images down on the fly

will speed your site up by 20 times

I installed the thumbnail on the fly contribution but it doesnt seem to have made the site any faster. Any ideas? thanks

Try removing the cslh (live help) javascript and see if that make a difference - if it does then that is the problem

I had a similar problem with Live Chat script slowing down page loads. This is what I did to resolve the problem:

1. removed script from my PHP master page (example of PHP master page: left column, right column, header, footer)

2. added the script to my includes>languages>english>contact_us.php

3. added the Live Chat icon on the main template -- when visitors click on it, it takes them to the contact_us.php page.

Another option is, instead of placing the script on the <contact_us.php> page, you can create a static html page with the script in it. When the visitor clicks on the Live Chat icon, the html page will open in a new window.
