DaveSlats Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Dear All, I am having problems installing OsCommerce as I cannot seem to get a connection from PHP to MySQL. I can run MySQL and can, from the command line prompt, look at the databases and tables. However, if I run a simple PHP script it doesn't connect to MySQL. And OsCommerce is having the same problem. Also, on the install page I have only red exes on the PHP extensions tick boxes. Do I need to have green ticks here? I would like to completely unistall MySQL and start from scratch with it. However, when I tried to do this the new installation still had data from the old incarnation - including the root password. How do I completely remove MySQL and start from scratch?
