edgarperez Posted December 14, 2002 Posted December 14, 2002 Hi. I have have a web page I am helping a friend design and he wants to install a shopping cart. This looks like a great place for me to get started. However, I am having trouble understanding what is required for the installation. I have downloaded the zip file and have read some of the readme and install files and it appears it is designed for someone installing everything on their own server. I am a web novice and use a hosting service, Hostrocket.com, for web space. They suggested I give your shopping cart a try. However they are expecting for me to install it. Can someone give me the "30,000 foot" description of what I have to?
mattice Posted December 14, 2002 Posted December 14, 2002 go to www.oscdox.com and download the documents. oh... and get the 2.2-CVS DAILY SNAPSHOT file, not the 2.1 version. HTH, Mattice "Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them"
edgarperez Posted December 14, 2002 Author Posted December 14, 2002 I did get the documents but when I started to review them it looked a little bit much for my level of knowledge.
Guest Posted December 14, 2002 Posted December 14, 2002 I did get the documents but when I started to review them it looked a little bit much for my level of knowledge. The OSCDOX are about the most easy to understand docs I have ever found. If you download the program and go step by step through the docs, I believe they will begin to make sense. Give it a try....what have you got to lose? Heck, nobody is going to shave your head and send you to bootcamp....
edgarperez Posted December 15, 2002 Author Posted December 15, 2002 Okay I will give it another try. Thanks
