When I go to the admin section this message appears at the bottom.

"You are not protected by a secure SSL connection."

I have the admin folder password protected through my web host. Do I need to be concerned with this message?

Im a newbie and just fixed this myself. I think you want this to say its secured. Do you have a SSL cert? If so, read this:

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
