digilee Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Firstly, once OSC is set up via your hosts control panel there is no real reason to mess around in phpmyadmin unless you are adding contributions but then you should always make a back-up first. Secondly, It looks like you haven't made any changes so my advice would be to go back to your control panel and uninstall OSC, make sure all files are deleted off the server and then install a fresh copy. Thirdly, if this still gives you problems you have 2 choices - contact your host and tell them their OSC install is giving you jip or, better still, download a fresh OSC and install it yourself. Ok.... i have tried using smartFTP... which is much easier for ftp uploading and downloading. However my problems still exist. I can't get OSC set up properly for some reason. my host allows me to create a database (New MySQL Database) the first page as i understand it is suppost to have check boxes however the first page that loads for me when i go to http://gamerheaven/catalog/install is different. It says: PHP Version 5.2.4 PHP Settings register_globals Off magic_quotes Off file_uploads On session.auto_start Off session.use_trans_sid Off PHP Extensions MySQL GD cURL OpenSSL New Installation The webserver environment has been verified to proceed with a successful installation and configuration of your online store. Please continue to start the installation procedure. THEN the database info. Which is provided when i create it through my webhost. next is the webserver stuff. Where I have two typing boxes. (both of which ask to install to the catalog folder) WWW Address The web address to the online store. Webserver Root Directory The directory where the online store is installed on the server. Alot of the stuff i see in the documentation isnt available for me. Making me feel i am doing something wrong. Suggestions are more than welcome and if i still can't figure it out i can provide an FTP link and my database info for help. thanks so far everyone!
gamerheaven Posted March 8, 2008 Author Posted March 8, 2008 Try changing register globals to on? I got it all now. thanks to everyone that helped out!
