ilmarts Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 First of all, I am amazed at the community of people that support this excellent cart software - this solution is *awesome*! I've built out a store at Illinois Wines and everything works great. The owner wants me to implement a handling fee, however, and the basic handling fee mod that I was able to find in the contributions area is only a one-time, flat-rate handling fee. Since he is selling wine, he wants to charge the customer for the box he has to ship in such that for every 2 bottles of wine that are ordered, $x.xx in handling gets added to the order. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help! Mark

ilmarts Posted February 29, 2008 Author Posted February 29, 2008 You possibly could do something with the table shipping? Thank you for the observation - there appears to be some functionality there that could be modified, however I don't see how I can enable table-based shipping as a 'fee' in addition to the actual shipping fee itself, which will come from UPS. The owner wants UPS to provide the live quote, but to also add this 'box/carton' fee per every 2 bottles that have to be shipped. I'm amazed at how quick the suggestions are made here - this is an incredible community. Mark
satish Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 solution: In the shipping Module there is a quotes function and a $cart variable. So get the qty from placing some loopp on $cart and then to the final quote add qty * cost. Satish Ask/Skype for Free osCommerce value addon/SEO suggestion tips for your site.
