armysurplus Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Hi, Has anyone had issue when trying to send emails from a windows server? They say they are successful, but they aren't! I have full access as its our own server and have tried everything we can think of, all other emails go out fine except Oscommerce. Thanks.
web-project Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 contact you hosting provider to fix your windows server issue. Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.
bpopelar Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 osCommerce always reports emails as sucessfully sent as the higher level code does not check the status of the low level send operation. In all likelyhood you have a problem with the configuration of the email related parameters in oscommerce. Since you are on a windows server, the protocol should be set to SMTP and the email linefeed parameter should be set to CRLF. If your hosting company requires SMTP password authentication, you will need to add this contribution. Check with your hosting company to see if you need an authenticated SMTP connection in order to send email. Ben
