OSC1.1 to OSC2.2

I have to move the OSC from a PHP4 to PHP5 environment, so I think that means updating from the currently used OSC1.1 to up to date OSC2.2, yes?

I don't mind doing quite a lot of the work again to get the site working (mods, etc) but it's the 500 or so products that I don't want to have to re-input, in fact refuse to input again.

Question: If I do a blank install of a brand new OSC2.2 RC2a (new location folder, new database) and get the installation to create the databse, can I then just import the backup from the 1.1 site and keep ongoing. Or is the database structure different between versions?

Will I come across issues when I try to run and then install the different contributions and modifications I need to get the site working as it used to?

You could get your shop to run on the new server but you'll probably end up having to fix a number of problems and the code for the fix won't always be compatible with your code. So since it doesn't matter, it would be best to upgrade to RC2. The databases are not compatible between the two although I think the product tables are. But a better approach would be to install Easy Populate on the old shop and showload your products. Then install it on the new and upload that file.

Pity the old site is already defunct, the hosting company removed PHP4 support without notice.
