1054 - Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

Please can someone help me. I have a an old Oscommerce installation and the host has upgraded the mysql and it now no longer works. I have followed the suggestions on the forum to fix it but have not done so successfully.

The error I get is as follows whenever I try to look at any product.

1054 - Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

the site has had a few contributions added and I would hate to have to upgrade to a later version and loose the contributions and also somehow have to reimport the database.
