order products by productattributes

hi,

after choosen a categorie I want to ad a order by product attributes. (I dropdown menu with all attributes, after klicking on one then shows all products that have this attribute)

I have done 2 dropdown menus for sorting by price and manufacturers but I need this sorting by attribute

I found this contribustion but this is a option in the search box.

I tried to modify it but without success.

Have anyone a another solution

 

one more question:

I want to write a sql query to search all products having the attribute 'metall'. I looked in the sql but I can't combine the tables products_description and product_option_values. How to do that?
