Order logged in system, but was never actually paid

I've got the RC2 installed, and am getting close to going live.

 

Testing the checkout: I added an item to the cart, and proceeded through the checkout. Once the store gets to the checkout confirmation page, it as an order being processed. It shows up as an order in both 'my account' and in the admin orders page. How can I stop this happening, as now order was actually made.

Which payment was used to complete order.

 

With some payment module there are order status associated when order is placed and updated when payment is recd.

So probably You made some configuration mistake.

The order was never actually sent to PayPal. I'm currently testing my site. As soon as you get to the order confirmation page, before even being sent to PayPal, OSC logs it as an order being processed both in the admin panel and in the 'my account' part of the users account.

the paypal module used to have a problem (quite the opposite to this one tho) when someone has paid but th eorder is not logged or could not be found in the admin. then someone tried to fix that problem with a rather stupid solution which is what youre experiencing.

you will need to alter the code to solve the problem.

Funnily enough, I have the same problem with my current shop. It's running MS2, and it logs some orders in the admin, but not all of them. I get all of the orders emailed from PayPal, so I haven't missed any, but it does mean the stats on that shop aren't correct.

 

I can adapt code somewhat, but my knowledge is pretty basic. I most certainly need direct help with my current issues (also see this post). This store will be going live in the next month, so I need to iron out the issues post haste!
