Good day!

Could anyone help me. Im using osCommerce solutions. i notice that the links generated in pages was http://mysite.com and not http://www.mysite.com (supposively what im expecting link). Could anyone help me figure this out. Does the HTTP_SERVER matters. because i think osCommerce uses this in creating link. thanks very much

you need to change it in includes/configure.php

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.yourdomain.com');

define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'http://www.yourdomain.com');

define('ENABLE_SSL', false);

define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.yourdomain.com');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.yourdomain.com');

cheers

There should not be a concern about www or no www, provided everything is consitent. I prefer the no www.

I was actually reading an article online last week concerning the move toward sites no longer having the traditional www in front of their domain name. It was quite an interesting read (unfortunately, I can't remember the link).

The www isn't really necessary anymore. The thinking in the beginning (well, beginning as far as the mass public migrating to the internet) was that other prefixes would become necessary as companies held all of their web page content on one server, all of the downloadable files (ftp) on another server, etc., etc. The Web just never developed that way. So, now you see it being dropped more and more (especially since it's cumbersome to say).

Much easier to say "mysite.com" than "wyuba-wyuba-wyuba dot mysite dot com", for instance.

The clincher - it doesn't hurt your page rankings either way. I think you'll find, in the next 2-4 years, that it will start being dropped more and more. The question is how many people will actually notice.
