jc2mm Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I may have missed it, but I have looked for a thread pertaining to my issue. I have "attempted" to install osCommerce to my Yahoo Small Biz hosting account - I followed detailed instructions found on this forum - and everything seems to go very smoothly... until I click continue on step 3 then I just ge a "mostly" blank page at this url "http://www.monogrammart.com/catalog/install/install.php?step=4". I seem to be STUCK here!
web-project Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 you can skip the installation file and do installation by hand, load the db file into MySQL db using the phpmyadmin utility & modify 2 configure.php files. Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.
lukeyboyo Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Check your hosting provider supports PHP4 and also supports MYSQL mate, also ensure you follow the quick reference guide EXACTLY, cant tell you how many things i messed up because i didnt read the instructions properly :-) P.S Make sure the Chmod permissions are correct when installing (as stated in instructions) and just keep at it :-)
jc2mm Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 OK when all else fails - wipe it clean and start over - deleted everything from server and started fresh, followed all the same instructions and this time it work perfectly! Now I just need to figure out how to change the templates - from TM -. Thanks for the help.
