kunal247 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Hi, about 4 yrs ago some one guided me to add a fetaure that will email me when google bot visits my site. this was a great idea at that time but now it is getting very annoying as i get hundreds of emails in a day stating gogle bot was detected on my site. How can I stop this? Pls help big time!! Thanks

You could try and do a word search for: tep_mail( Check out each one - there will be a few - for the googlebot reference then remove it.. But you might start with application_top.php.. Lloyd

Thanks for your response. Tried searching for tep_mail( in application_top.php and header.php but no luck on that at all. Any other ideas and tips where i can stop this?
photofxplus Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 You should do the word search throughout your site - every page - or if you still have the original contribution - then see what pages are included in the contribution. Load same default pages back over your site or edit them accordingly. If you do not know what pages were changed than you are going to have to find the mail function/functions yourself. They could have used osC's mail function: tep_mail( Or php mail function: mail( Which means you should be able to do a word search throughout your site using: mail( It has to be one of these functions sending you the emails..
