Hello,

Still learning the basics also and definately need help. Please look and let me know what you think. praise, critisize all is welcome... especially suggestions. :-)

A dark and brooding site, which I find difficult to read. The contrast between black, white and light blue is visually jarring.

If you don't have any reviews might be good to remove the feature.

Also why have a currency option if you only accept USD?

The Laws of Attraction needs some html tags added so it is broken into paragraphs.

Replace the stock logos for notifications and reviews.

Need help installing add ons/contributions, cleaning a hacked site or a bespoke development, check my profile

Thanks for responding, I appreciate it. I think so too. Been trying to change those logos, but do not know where to go.. my images2 edit box, i think only work for the about us page. Do you know where I would need to go to change those? also where I might find where the text color numbers are too change them so there more readable. And the currency option..hmmmm I will look in my admin folder, I didn't realize that. thanks again for the feedback and if you know how I can fix those areas, where i can look, would be greatly appreciated. Really would like to re-vamp the whole thing... but still learning here.

Basic Design Pack

will answer most questions you have always plenty to look up in the contrib section all colours and styles are edited through your stylesheet.css

if you search the forums for remove reviews theres a very helpfull thread thats a 1-2-3 step through of it only need to edit a couple of lines of code.

I'd have to agree with above about your site I can see what you were going for with the theme of your site but the blue black at the moment doesn't work for me to hard to read

again the currency box can be edited out in colomn right.php with a simple // before the define code to the infobox.

If your adament about your colour choice maybe a text colour change may be the way to go.

Good luck :)

Karen,

I think the most obvious thing for me is the background. As a person who has been developing website now for over a decade, I can tell you that while a background can make a site visually appealing, it is usually very difficult to successfully pull off. In the case of your site, it would be so much better if the background were solid and the infoboxes had that background image as a background in their header - NOT under the text. This has been a difficult task for all but the most experienced osc designers for some time now, but I believe it would go far in making your site more attractive and easier to read.

The area where your product images are displayed should probably be changed to a white background as it is also usually very difficult for someone without much design knowledge to make the images look like they belong to the site, without spending countless hours in an image editing program removing backgrounds and the like.

I would try to keep the #003684 color for your infobox header background and I would change the site/body background to something like #547197 and get rid of the bg.gif image.

Will come back later and look to see what other suggestions I can make if you want more.

Your site says:

All credit card orders are processed securely via PayPal using 128-bit encryption technology

I understand that PAyPal has the 128 encryption, but your site does not. I find that to be misleading information.

Your flaming logo is very distracting, I try to look at product, but it keeps pulling my attention away. Its very early 90's too.

Your background makes it hard to read anything.

If I were to come to your site from a search, I would probally close the page right away.

Thank you, for the color suggestion, I tried it and it is now more readable.. however one of my pages, has no text. I think white text would be good there, but i don't know the code for that color or where to put on what line in stylesheet. if you know that code, please advise. thanks again :-) Karen
