gaaro Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 Hi everyone! Finally my first OScommerce site is up and running, it took a while, but now it works! Any feedback would be appreciated: http://winkel.mwhairbeauty.nl/catalog Thnx in advance Harro "If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure." George W. Bush, Jr
sqaureblack Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 1. It's all in a funny language, but i guess that's how it's ment to be. 2. Asing for password etc all the time 3. Certificate warns - Loads of em! 4. Other than that it looks ok, needs a bit of colour! Jeremy
mattice Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 Hi Gaaro, It's nice and clean but a bit 'saai' (as in boring). I think some color would cheer it up a bit. And I would remove the login from the first page as it is likely to 'scare' people away... BTW Say hello to Vinc ;) "Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them"
mattice Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 yeah... it wants to connect to a secure area on www.nonfoodgroothandel.nl ?? With a bogus made SSL cert. I actually got STUCK trying to get out of the cert warning loop. that is a serious problem... if this shop is live I'd take it down and fix that first! Regards, Mattice "Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them"
gaaro Posted December 13, 2002 Author Posted December 13, 2002 Mattice: Indeed it is way "saai" but, "de klant is koning" My client: MW Hair Beauty, wanted a gray-scaled site because it fit's perfectly with their new website(not live yet) The login screen, will think about that, Vinc say's hi to, and agree's with you! sqaureblack: Indeed Dutch language, sorry can't change that for ya Damn that freaking server!!!! Gotto check that to! Indeed we try to use SSL on nonfoodgroothandel.nl but because it's on the same server we get error's. We are buying a real certificate as we speak So that should fix it! Renewd the SSL bogus cert, should be oke now for a few days. "If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure." George W. Bush, Jr
CC Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 Yeh i must say there are LOADS of Certificate Warnings. All for your images it would appear. So I would sort that out ASAP. And definately get rid of that login on the mainpage. Just have a nice visible link so people can get to the login page. I agree if I saw a login on the mainpage I would be a little uncertain. Plus this is pushing all your products right down the page. They need to be visible when you have visitors so you attract attention to them. Otherwise it is a pleasant site, maybe a little bland and could use some colour to cheer it up a little. Nice job tho. CC.
mattice Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 Damn that freaking server!!!! Gotto check that to! Indeed we try to use SSL on nonfoodgroothandel.nl but because it's on the same server we get error's. You should check your VirtualHost settings / adapt them.... you can have two or more sites use the same cert but you'll need to get the document root-s straightened out I think... "klant is koning"... yeah... but ussually visually impaired too :D "Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them"
gaaro Posted December 13, 2002 Author Posted December 13, 2002 Maybe you can help us with that SSL stuff We use a Cobalt Raq 4, and we made a self-signed SSL cert on nonfoodgroothandel.nl But once in a while the MWhair site freak's because of the SSL, wich is very strange coz we don't use SSL on that one!!! Does Oscommerce search for SSL or somehting? Howcome a Non-SSL inplementation can give these errors? "If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure." George W. Bush, Jr
gaaro Posted December 13, 2002 Author Posted December 13, 2002 a part of my config file: define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://winkel.mwhairbeauty.nl'); define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://winkel.mwhairbeauty.nl'); define('ENABLE_SSL', false); I see there is a refference to https even though i don't use it... Will this sort it out???: define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://winkel.mwhairbeauty.nl'); define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'http://winkel.mwhairbeauty.nl'); define('ENABLE_SSL', false); Or should i look for a sollution elswhere? gaaro Posted January 2, 2003 Author Posted January 2, 2003 In stead of asking it, i just should have tried it! I made these changes en indeed, it works! So for everyone with 2 oscommerce on 1 server with these errors, this is the solution! "If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure." George W. Bush, Jr
gevans Posted January 2, 2003 Posted January 2, 2003 I like the design but those black infobox headers are way too much. I would make them a dark grey like #828282. Other than that I think it looks great.
gaaro Posted January 3, 2003 Author Posted January 3, 2003 mmm I think you're right..... I shoud do that.... thnx! "If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure." George W. Bush, Jr
