Guest Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 1. OS Commerce structure i have to learn.. (from where i get this plz help :D ) why would you agree to take on a job for something you know nothing about? then expect people to explain the structure of all things.. on their free time.. while to collect a payment for working on your client's shop? and I have very very less knowledge of php code you should back out now, before you cause your client several headaches. other free module

Guest Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 not a big deal for me... if you don't know much about php, yet it is. it's not something you "get the hang of" over night. it's irresponsible of you to take on a project that will end up being used with payment processing and whatnot. if you do not understand the basics of php, you won't secure your code. which results in a plethora of headaches for your client now, and later on down the road. and more I think you don't know the meaning of Open Source and even the support Forum....  sure i do, but what does that have to with, you asking people to give you the low-down on the overall structure of oscommerce.. (expecting answers for free), when it would take hours just to explain the tip of the iceberg
takeallfree Posted February 24, 2008 Author Posted February 24, 2008 (expecting answers for free), when it would take hours just to explain the tip of the iceberg ok if your are not capable of helping other(of course u r not) so even don't make a battle field here...and let this be a supporting forum for other's
Guest Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 i'm not arguing with you. do your client a favor and learn php BEFORE jumping into oscommerce. if you're working on your OWN shop (or a relatives, whatever), that's great. i started with oscommerce not knowing a thing, too. but don't take somebody's money and do half-assed work, that will end up getting them hacked relentlessly and possibly sued. if any violations occur with visa, YOU are possibly the one that could be facing the legal troubles, as well as your client.. especially if they have reason to believe your lack of security ethics was intentional. (ie. what "programmer" takes payment on a project they know nothing about... the first person your client will point the finger at is you.)
