phantomxc Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I just found oscommerce a few days ago and I have been pretty amazed at how powerful it is. One thing I haven't been able to find is if the store can do what I need it to do :) Basically to keep this simple, say I have a single product (a picture frame) but I want this product customizable. Is there anyway to make it have subcategories? Lets say its a one size picture frame and one option would be the wood type, then the wood stain, then a glass type, and a color for the lights (yes it has lights!) I realize that I could just make multiple products but for how many options I would like to have that would be like 1000 products. I feel if anything that would be the easiest thing to accomplish for what I'm looking for. The tricky part...My product will have a custom engraving in the glass in which I would like the customer to be able to choose the font type, whats going to be engraved, and location of the engraving. So I would need the ability to have them submit text and or images with their order. Any suggestions would be great! if oscommerce can't do what im looking for, are there any other open source projects like this one that might be better suited for my needs? I have thought about trying to accomplish this in flash but I can picture it turning into a nightmare.

urbunner Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 In the administration panel, select catalog and then product attributes. This will allow you to add as many options as you like
