Hi,

I've been making my site now for several months and its finally finished! Whilst my site has been in development I have had a splash page stating "Coming Soon" which is located at my domain name e.g. google.com

What I need help on is that my store is located at e.g. google.com/store/osc how can I move my store to my real domain google.com ?

Thanks in advance!

How would I do it?

I would first create a database backup of the present store, this should be saved in admin/backups directory. I would then download a copy of all files - the entire catalog directory.

Remove or delete the following directories and/or files:

catalog/local

catalog/includes/configure.php

admin/local

catalog/admin/includes/configure.php

Be sure and remove all htaccess files as well

I would then install a fresh default configuration osC onto the new site - same version, this would set all file paths as neccessary. Then upload the edited copy overwriting all files in the fresh version. Go to admin panel, the backup database should be there. Use it to update the database.

May be an easier way - I do not know of any..

Sounds complicated, is it possible to redirect google.com/store/osc to google.com ?

Photofxplus gave sound advice for moving domains, but you wasted his time.

From what you have just said, you are not moving domain, just moving to the root of your domain.

You can have a look the store in root addon.

Sorry if I sounded rude, I am a newbie and it just looked a bit complicated for me and was wondering if there was an alternative solution for my problem...

I have been told that if I create a .htaccess file this could solve my problem, does anyone know how this works?
