New and need help please

I am a newbie to the osc and do need some input please. I have downloaded the program and I have figured out how to add categories and products with no problem but I am confused on the following things I need to do

 

1. How do you get a template for your site versus the ecommerce basis template? I thought that there was a offer for free templates ith the program, am I correct ?

 

2. How do you put your own information in the required places such as shipping, payments, policies, etc ?

 

3. Is there somewhere that can provide banners and logo's for you website ?

 

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

To answer your questions:

1, Google 'free oscommerce templates' there are a lot around. There are a lot of people here that have a 'problem' with templates, myself included, and think they are the work of the devil, code wise. Best thing to do is to install STS (search in the contributions), find a template you like and then try to build your site to match. It'll be much easier than trying to get the devil's code to work.

 

2, If you read the text on the front page of your install, you'll find information about changing the content. Also download and read the manual.

 

3, 'Provide' as in design and build? Plenty of people, again myself included, here that will do that for you for a price.
