sqaureblack Posted December 12, 2002 Share Posted December 12, 2002 I have created a new categories menu on my site - www.squareblack.com, I think it is a lot more shopper friendly, let me know wot you think, are there any other menus like this I could look at. :P Jeremy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mattice Posted December 12, 2002 Share Posted December 12, 2002 It's nice... but isn't it basically the same layout as osC stock? How does it behave when you have six /seven nested categories? sqaureblack Posted December 12, 2002 Author Share Posted December 12, 2002 It works, but just got to get rid of the text wrap, it makes it look messy in the same way as the original. to see go to epson compatible printer supplies and click empty category Jeremy Bray Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mattice Posted December 12, 2002 Share Posted December 12, 2002 Yeah... I was afraid of that :D I think Reini Urban did something similar once (back in the days...) http://xarch.tu-graz.ac.at/home/rurban/sof...are/tep/extras/ look at catnav.zip or something. It is OLD code but it should be usefull "Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
sqaureblack Posted December 13, 2002 Author Share Posted December 13, 2002 Sorted, It now just extends the table as needed. Most people don't have that many levels so this should be ok. jeremy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
sqaureblack Posted December 13, 2002 Author Share Posted December 13, 2002 now added <hr> instead of red "______" and got rid of the line above the first category. I add it to the contributions if any one wants a copy. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mattice Posted December 13, 2002 Share Posted December 13, 2002 That's sort of moving the problem to the main screen... :) but it is nice. Yeah, contribute it, I'm sure people will like it and perhaps even improve it. sqaureblack Posted December 13, 2002 Author Share Posted December 13, 2002 i've posted it in the Features Contributions under Categories list - updated look v1.0. sqaureblack Posted December 13, 2002 Author Share Posted December 13, 2002 You may also notice, i have now change the tops of my menu - removing the top line of the contents box! thus allowing the curve top. Wot do you think? Jeremy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mattice Posted December 13, 2002 Share Posted December 13, 2002 New style allowing the rounded corners is nice! Looks sharp. By the way: You can announce your contribution in the Contributions section.... make a nice informative post so people know it is actually there... A lot more people will read the contribution section then this particular post. So the contrib gets more exposure -> more feedback. Here's an example of a contribution announcement : http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28864 Regards, Mattice "Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

rossdev Posted December 18, 2002 Share Posted December 18, 2002 I did this hack for my site: for ($a=0; $a<$foo[$counter]['level']; $a++) { $categories_string .= " "; $last="1"; } if ($last=="1") { $categories_string .= "• "; } example: http://outdooremporium.net/index.php?show=me Brian..
