Andersen.dc Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 I get this error after installing; "Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /customers/roloc.dk/roloc.dk/httpd.www/shop/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file." I have set the configure.php file to 644, but still the same. What am im doing wrong?
germ Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 If you're using FTP, STOP. Login and use your Control panel instead. FTP is notorious for NOT working. If 644 doesn't work, try 444. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. Andersen.dc Posted February 22, 2008 Author Posted February 22, 2008 I have been using FTP (cuteFTP), and i have been trying to change it to 444, but every time i have pressed apply it changed back til 644. Which controle panel are you refering to? The one at my webhost (one.com), or the admin panel in my shop? I have tried the controle panel at my webhost (one.com), but i can not change user rights there. Nor can i find it in the admin panel at the shop. I am a bit lost ;)
Zews Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 use coreftp pro, been using it for almost 3 years now, but i must warn you to backup every single file you edit whit it, believe me, you don't want to learn this the hard and painful way.
Andersen.dc Posted February 22, 2008 Author Posted February 22, 2008 Trust me, i have learned it the hard way ;)
germ Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Read thru this post: Click me There is a script detailed in there to make and try to change permissions. You can try that. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
