Bonez Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Hi I'm just about to take over an existing osCommerce store, and have been asked to add PayPal to it (payments are currently handled by Protx, and the site has a certificate from SCL). The thing is, I'm a bit of noob to this. Any help appreciated: I've set up osCommerce to run locally on my laptop so that I can have a look around it, I have a PayPal business account, and I've set up "Accept PayPal Payments Standard" with encryption turned off. This seems to work, but is it secure enough? If I turn encryption on, I require: (1) A private key (2) A public key (3) A PayPal Public Certificate ID Am I correct in assuming that the existing SCL certificates will be OK for (1) & (2)? Where do I get (3) from? All help gratefully received. Thanks
Jack_mcs Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 You don't need the encryption. Jack_mcs Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Yes, but I've never seen anyone use that option. It's an extra bit of security that really isn't needed, in my opinion anyway.
