Alyhr Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 (edited) Hi im having the swedish carstyling shop www.stylingshopen.se The problem is that i need to add about 2000products and make total layoutchanges for the products that i have now. There must we a windows application or something that you can use to copy and paste text into and build up the category system in a faster way than to use the admin pane i hope. Can anyone tell me where to find a sollution to this or how i can do. If i shoule build up hundreds of categorys and add products from the adminpanel it will take me a year =) I was hoping for a standalone application where you can create category folders and products with just a click or something. Maybe something like the explorer in windows? Happy for all information and help i can get Best Regards Mats Alyhr Edited February 20, 2008 by Alyhr Quote

Obewanz Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 (edited) Alyhr, Easy Populate is the way to go, but I would caution you to build your categories first, place one item in the category and then do an export. Edit the exported file for that category and then do the import to fill up the category. This has been the easiest way I have been able to make this work reliably. If something is wrong, you only mess up in one category and since breaking it down this way, it has worked flawlessly for me. Also you can use wordpad on a windows machine to edit the EPA/EPB file without too much fuss or confusion. I usually add a blank line and then copy the original item over as many times as I need new items. Then modify each line one piece of information at a time - Oh, don't use the arrow keys when trying to move to the next line as it will drop you somwhere else on the next line than straight down - not sure why this happens, but I haven't tried any of my other editors yet to see if they work any better since this one has worked well using these procedures. Hope this helps... Edited February 21, 2008 by Obewanz Quote The GraphicZoo check profile for web address

To clarify, the categories are created by easy populate correctly if version 2.76f by surfalot is useds othere would be no reason for the extra steps of creating them separately.
