hi, i just installed a template and when i go to catalog/admin it takes me straight to the admin panel without asking for username or password. During my installation i was never asked for such info....what can i do to rectify this please?

 

im very new to oscommerce, but been with phpbb for years...its time to play with the bigboys :thumbsup:

if it's version MS2.2 you need to set up a password via cPanel (or equivalent) for that directory in cPanel you'll find it under "Password Protect Directories"

this is in one of the files

 

PROJECT_VERSION', 'osCommerce 2.2-MS2');

 

Is this the new version? and why is it so ghetoo to protect the admin file :blink:

 

also when i try to login as a registered member i recieve

 

 1054 - Unknown column 'member_level' in 'field list'

select customers_id, customers_firstname, customers_password, customers_email_address, customers_default_address_id, member_level from customers where customers_email_address =

Your template uses a version that required directory access to be controlled as explained by Robert.

 

Unknown column could be a error running mysql 4 code on a mysql 5 server.this link might help
