Joy-Bay
Our store is joy-bay.com/catalog and when I go to show it off to other people the corners and little white arrows are not showing up on other poeples systems and I can't figure out why?:( Some people and just right-clikc and show picture and they show up and others nothing happens. They just get all these nasty red "X's". I figured it was just their inter-net connection, but now it's doing it to me:( If I right click and do show picture, I can get most of them to show most of the time. Has anyone else heard of this and know what I need to do??? I'm starting to think it's the rights? Thanks, Mike & Joyce www.joy-bay.com
Ajeh
Has something to do with the server speed etc. I have that happen from time to time then go weeks and never see it happen again. I cannot put a finger on why that happens.
Guest
Hi! Sorry I can't help with the image problems either but, I would like to make a suggestion. I just visited your home page and you need to do some serious image size reduction....those smiley buttons are 11+k each....So it loads really slow. Ideally buttons should be no more than 1 or 2k. dreamscape
Has something to do with the server speed etc. I don't think this has anything to do with server speed... this happens to me often on localhost (I don't think you can access any server faster than localhost) while I am developing my site... happens most often fi you click refresh... and usually happens with the pixel_trans.gif image... but sometimes with others too The only thing necessary for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing - Edmund Burke
fish_head
Mike & Joyce, I'm going to take a guess here and say you are using Internet Explorer 6 SP1. There is a bug in IE 6 SP1 that causes small gifs to do exactly what you are describing. Either refreshing the page or right clicking the missing image and choosing "Show Picture" will make it appear. Try your site in a couple other browsers and see if you have the same problem. This is a bug that personally drives me nuts.
Ajeh
That might be the issue. It has been doing this now that I think about it since I went to 6 and I do not recall this issue in 5 ... I will have to hunt up some older browsers. Thanks for the insight ... how I do hate those nasty IE bugs ...
toolcrazy
I just checked with netscape 4.7 and I am on cable internet and I am getting the broken images too. I think there is a coding problem. I can't get the images to show at all. Things like that tell me there is a image or two in the wrong place. Maybe a dir got deleted. I know I am grabbing at straws, just trying to help. Steve -------------------------
Ajeh
Straws are better than no ideas at all. It usually occures for me on secure pages. But, occaisionally extends to other pages on the images missing. On my site I am on the same server and have one set of files for everything. So ... it's not missing images or mixed code. Other times, if I just wait a an extra few seconds to minutes, the images eventually fill in. Should you think of anything ... or guess at anything ... do feel free to offer up suggestions ... :D
