Deactivate Manufacturer

Anybody knows how to deactivate manufacturer? I have some manufacturers that I wish to OFF temporary, but I do not want to delete them yet. I hope all the products under that manufacturer can be deactivated automatically as well, and will not show up under New Products, Featured Products, Specials and All Products.

I have installed Hide Category mod. Really hope to have Hide Manufacturer mode that is of similar to Hide Category mod.

 

Will someone be able to come out with a mod for that? I have hundreds of manufacturer, some no longer have products under it and I want to hide it instead of deleting it (as might still need to use it back in future).

There is no way to do this through admin.

 

If you want to do this first you will have to place astatus field in db for manufacturer then apply code in admin to allow setting this flag.

 

Once you are done with this then you need to modify sql queries that collect product listing and apply addiitonal logic into this.

 

Better way is use easy populate

step1: download product data along with mfg.

Step2 : apply an inactive flag to these products.

 

step3 :Then upload this sheet.
