I am sure this is all covered somewhere but I am not having much luck finding it in all of the posts.

After the installation of osC none of the images are showing up (E.G. shopping cart, check out, all of the info and navigation buttons in administration).

Also how do I make the "enlarge image" work. when I click on that link within a product it shows the exact same size image.

Is there a way to change the size of the image in each product, unfortunately not all of my product images are the same size.

I am new to this whole osC and still trying to figure it all out, any help I can get is MUCH appreciated.

Thank you

Jesse

Hi, Have you gotten it to work yet? I think you might have missed some of the following Post Install steps:

Post-Installation

After installing osCommerce follow these steps for post-installation:

1. Rename the catalog/install folder or delete it.

2. Reset the permissions on catalog/includes/configure.php to 644 (if you are still getting the warning message at the top of the page after setting this configure.php files to 644 then set the catalog/includes/configure.php file to 444 which is read only - this happens on some servers that have been updated for security reasons).

3. Set the permissions on catalog/images directory to 777

4. Set the permissions on admin/images/graphs directory to 777

5. Create the directory admin/backups and set the permissions to 777 (this is the folder to store the database backup of your store in the "Tools" section of the store admin).

The store admin directory on your server needs to be password protected using .htaccess. Most of the time the server you are hosting your store on has the ability to password protect directories through the server administration area so check with your host.

Check that you have done all of the above and if you are still having problems post back for more help.

Thank you for your post, I was able to find out that the images got corrupted when they were uploaded, they looked great on my local hard drive so I re-uploaded them and that resolved the image issues in the admin section. I did make sure the permissions were set correctly. Thank you for that suggestion.

I am still not able to figure out where I can change the settings of the pop-up image to get it to show a large images though. I am also still wondering if there is a way to change the image size in the individual product information. As I mentioned not all of my products have the same size image and it distorts and pixlates the ones that are a differant size.

Thank you again for your input.

Hey, have you gotten the distorted pics thing taken care of? I would suggest the contrib called On the Fly Thumbnailer here:

I believe the latest full package is v2.3a on August 20, 2007. I would install that and if you need any of the updates after that, then you can do them.

Hope this helps!

I did. I found that the image itself was corrupt. Apparently when I uploaded the images they somehow got messed up. I re-uploaded them and that resolved the problem.

Thank you for your response
