gevans
There is much more to the osCommerce site than the forums. Check http://www.oscommerce.com for faqs, mods, and live sites. Oh and of course to download OSC!
magneteye
So, you have to search through the contributions forum? You mean there isn't a site where people post their mod's, etc and you can look them up by type/category and so on? If not, one should be started. An OSC Mod Resource would be quite nice. I was looking for the mod's that www.paulharris.com used, since I wanted to do a similar layout. I can't seem to find them easily in the Contributons forum. Anyone that can help? -matt

Guest
Oh my! How stupid of me...I didn't tell you EXACTLY which button to click on in the upper left hand corner above the osCommerce logo...It's the DOWNLOADS button....then on the next page is the menu that that has CONTRIBUTIONS ...there are more than 500 of them now... I'll just blame it on being tired last night....
mattice
I was looking for the mod's that www.paulharris.com used, since I wanted to do a similar layout. Well you could always call him... :D It's a HIGHLY customized site. There is no such thing as a contribution that will get your store like that. It has been re-coded in several places to break from the standard layout. It is an example of what can be achieved with osCommerce, intended as ...well.. a showcase. magneteye
SORRY!!! GEEZ! I didn't see that link, i don't know why i overlooked it. Well, thanks for pointing it out anyway. I understand paul harris is custom mainly, there are a few things about it i want to accomplish. I think my design skills are good enough to do the rest. Thanks, matt

moyashi
hmmm .... Is the contribution area searchable? There's enormous amounts of goodies with previous versions and all a simple person like myself will get lost in all of that. hehe, I didn't imagine "contributions" = "downloads" NewsDesk(934) / FAQDesk(1106) / OrderCheck(1168) :::

I understand paul harris is custom mainly, there are a few things about it i want to accomplish. I think my design skills are good enough to do the rest. Thanks, matt The basic layout of Paul Harris should be relatively easy to obtain. Go through the catalog files and eliminate the right column. Rewrite the footer so that the information boxes and any others you want show up within a table there that is horizontal instead of vertical. Edit or eliminate the left column to suit your needs. Finally edit your header to fit. Paul Harris works because it only has 4 top-level categories. If you have a lot of top level categories, it won't work. Would take a little bit of work but nothing really drastic.
