Guest Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I am very new to here , i ran in to some little problems,which i solved and finally could reach the install screen of oscommerce. The error message i get is the following, after in did the new installation and database import, i filled out what needed to be filled out, but then got the following error A test connection made to the database was NOT successful. The error message returned is: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client Please click on the Back button below to review your database server settings. If you require help with your database server settings, please consult your hosting company i also have this message Failed loading C:\Program Files\Zend\ZendOptimizer-3.2.8\lib\ZendExtensionManager.dll I filled out the database name and password etc , provided by my webhosting company. Some help is really welcome :)
FIMBLE Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Is it a SQL that you are able to set up thru your Cpanel? Or one that your host has set up for you. In a lot of cases you need to add your username (cpanel) to the database user name. like this yourcpanelusername_your databaseusername, with an underscore in between the two. Some help is really welcome :) Thx for the respsonse, my webhoster set up the database ( www.vevida.nl) and it is a windowsbased server and i don't think i have a cpanel to acces , i can only acces myphpadmin. Any other ideas? Should my provider change anything ? i think the problem is with them not with me , the only thing i changed was http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5729. Iam awaiting your response, thx inadvance. if you require more info , please say so.
