State/Province in Certain Order in Dropdown

I thought I read this somewhere in the forum a while back. I have done a search and have been searching for 4 hours without any luck at all. In create account we have a state/province dropdown list. It is in a terrible mess. I sell mostly to USA and to to these intl' countries (UK, Norway, Ireland, Mexico, England and Canada. I want all USA states to be listed first, then the Intl' countries we sell to frequently and so on.

 

The way the list is now, you have to look closely and slowly for USA states. aargh!!

 

Can someone help please.

Hi, I can't believe I just saw your post just before I logged off. I just got done installing contrib called Country-State Selector

I used the latest version 1.3.3 and it was tricky, because I have a heavily modified site, but I finally got it to work and it is great! You can go to my site and see it in My Account.

Check my post here. You will have to add more countries by their code and be careful with zone, zone2, etc when adding them.

 

With this the state and the country must match or the customer will get an error message eg You can not have Quebec as a state and USA for the country.

I have installed the Country-State Selector mod, but now when I go to checkout the delivery information page is skipped. It goes straight to the payment page. Can someone help me with this issue as my store is live and I truly need to fix this.
