stingrad Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Hi I have searched for this answer before posting, I have already got a database on my site for my Guestbook my host only allows one database is there anyway that I can use one for the guestbook and oscommerce or do I need to change host to one that will allow more than one database. Thanks in advance
krnl Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 You can probably use your current host if you pay for another database. Contact them and find out.
bobg7 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 You may be able to use the same database as long as the guestbook table names are not the same table names in osCommerce. Also if the guestbook tables have a prefix to the tablenames (prefix_table1, prefix_table2) you should be OK. Installed Contributions: CCGV, Close Popup, Dynamic Meta Tags, Easy Populate, Froogle Data Feeder, Google Position, Infobox Header Entire Row, Live Support for OSC, PayPal Seal with CC images, Report_m Sales, Shop by Price Revised, SQL Updater, Who's Online Enhancement, Footer, GNA EP Assistant and still going.
♥geoffreywalton Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 You could import the sql for the osc database into your guest book db. Then amend both configure.php files on the osc store to point to your common db.
