How do I make my menus look like this......

Hi,

 

I want to make my menus to look like the ones on this site which is on the left hand side:

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g4-Europe-Vacations.html

 

see where it reads things to do etc, I'd like rollovers and white bg when the menu is selected state.
