Set item as 'gets its own box' when shipped?

I have certain items in my store that need to be shipped in their own box, and anything other than these certain items can be shipped together. So item A needs it's own box... items B, C, and D can be shipped together. If a user orders item A, and B and C, then the order needs to be filled with 2 boxes, and UPS needs to calculate the shipping properly. I've looked at some other carts, and they all take the total weight of the items and figures out the shipping based on all the items being in the same box, and when this happens the shipping cost is several dollars more than what it would be if item A is put into a separate box.

 

My question is, can osCommerce handle this kind of shipping option? Is there an add-on that can handle this? It's very important to my client.
