(FEC) Fast Easy Checkout Mod

The FEC thread seems dead as my post reply of some time ago gets no attraction. (79 pages since 2005)

Contributions add - ons are dead as my post has had no result from a week ago???

So I am trying here.

For the past year I have had complaints about a lengthy/confusing checkout process.

 

So I used the FEC mod. I has reduced the steps.

This mod has helped me resolve the complaints - I THINK!

 

You see, there used to be a comments box where customers would write their complaints - but now it is gone and I'm not sure if they've stopped complaining.

 

Also if they entered the wrong CC number the tables on the page go CRAZY?

 

Q1. How do I include the Comments page back into the process?

Q2. How do I fix the Credit Card error problem where the web page goes haywire if an incorrect number is entered?

I could not find answers to these questions in the 79 odd pages of the FEC thread and appreciate someone who knows perhaps if this is common coding that I can correct myself???

Your post just made my day go quicker. I've spent the last day installing it and cleaning it up to integrate with my design.

 

The basic change this mod made is "skip to payment page". I hadn't tested the credit card INCORRECTLY yet. Now fec is out the door.

 

The goal is to make money. Frak FEC.

 

Is there any other checkout streamlining mod?

Dynamoeffects created a one-page-checkout for his client ( http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=297358 ) and has obtained the copyright of the code from his client. He is planning on releasing it as a contribution, but who knows when that will be..... I patiently (yeah right, I want it NOW!!!!) await. Heh.

 

Hopefully it will be easy enough to integrate into a slightly-modified OSC installation when he does release it. Either way, it will be well worth it. Heh.
