ELnew Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I believe we have a great looking site, VERY simplistic navigation, and were getting about 20 unique hits a day so far, yet no sales, any suggestions?

none_uk Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Whats your site? pm me the link. I'v been promoting my site on 2 forums but think only 2 people from the forums signed up. Rest came from Google search. I went LIVE a week ago and setup adwords (i got free £50 voucher) so far i'v spend £25 in that week and get around 70+ hits and had some good sales. getting about 2 orders a day. Not bad even though i have not mannaged to get phone number up yet and returns address. Will update this info soon. I accept Credit/Debit/paypal/googlecheckout and my price is very good hence the sales +quality.
voided Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 i always allow 2 to 3 months for a site to pickup on traffic. while starting ppc campains will get a few orders a week to get you started, good seo tactics will get you traffic in time - remember a 6month old site is still considered a new site. Like it was said: directories / forums / possibly craigslist / affiliate programs ... more agressive ppc campains (not just google i found that using shopzilla,become.com,and others works very well too) - some of these options cost money but if you are in a competitive field (depends on what you sell) you'll need to spend to make some :) This is assuming that your site doesn't turn off shoppers in _ANY_ way: aesthetics / security (including store Information / Good product Content (product information) as this will factor in on your ROI (Return On Investment) just my 2cents. homewetbar Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Post your site so we can critque it, it may be a few simple navigation/design issues. Also you are likely still "boxed" by google, so you cannot get page rank since I assume you started your store in Nov 2007 by your member date. It takes 6-9 months now before google will start assigning page rank to your site so you can get some traffic. Also build up your incoming links to increase page rank, pay for inbound links, adwords, comparison sites, etc, and do all the other basic SEO stuff which you can google how to do or by a few books... Highrankings.com is a good place to start Jill is considered an expert in the SEO field.
