denisejeffers Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 I don't like my template and after reading everything in these forums, it appears I can pick a new template and as long as I save my original catalog/includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php I should be ok? So I don't need to mess with my current database 1. I should rename catalog/includes/configure.php to catalog/includes/configure-good.php 2. I should rename admin/includes/configure.php to admin/includes/configure-good.php 3. Upload my new template directory 4. Rename admin/includes/configure-good.php to admin/includes/configure.php 5. Rename catalog/includes/configure-good.php to catalog/includes/configure.php And I should be good to go? Am I missing anything else?
♥geoffreywalton Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 It depends what is in your template directory. If it includes lots of .php files you could be overwriting changes you made when various contributions were installed. So I would back up your entire directory structure from \catalog down onto your pc so if you don't like what happens you can restore the entire thing. Thanks for your fast response, as I need to make a decision and have it completed by this week-end. I have no contributions installed - so that shouldn't be an issue (surprising but true) When you reference template directory - are you talking about when I unzip the template? I was under the impression it would be in the same structure (Catalog with the following 5 subdirectories (admin-downloads-images-includes-pubs) Is that not the case with templates?
