allaboutwicker Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Hello, I went to the tool bar on this site and then contributions. I typed in Australia post and searched. It gave me several responses. Here is one of them which is probably what you want, I believe it calculates the shipping based on the items weight and shipping address: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/648 You will need to use the second one down, Australia Post 3.01, as that is the latest complete package. The very first is only an upgrade to it if you need or want it. You would have to download and unzip the file, find the install log and see if you understand how to install the contribution. If you need more help on how to do this in detail you can post back and I will try to explain it to you. Quote

I think I understand now. I use the browser called Firefox so I think where you see an internet explorer symbol I am seeing a firefox file. It is labeled install and is 492 bytes. All you do with this one is double click it and it will open in your browser to explain what to do with all the other files. You will need an ftp program on your computer to properly upload files when you do these modifications and if you want to change anything in a file that you already have. I have read that you should not be doing it through your regular oscommerce admin screen. I downloaded the free ftp program smart ftp and it works well for me, but there are many out there if you don't have one already. ***Before you do any changes to your site I highly recommend using the ftp program to make a backup of all your oscommerce files somewhere special on your computer*** Carefully read the install instructions. I have not personally done this contrib as I am in the US, but I did download it onto my computer to take a peek at it to try to help you. If you have not done any other changes to your files, you can just upload the files they have in the contribution and overwrite the old ones. Any future contributions you will need to be very careful to modify specific files and then upload them. You will also need to run the SQL file called "auspost" in this contribution. What you do is look for a program called phpMyAdmin in your cpanel (control panel) for your website, not the oscommerce admin, but your webhosts cpanel. On one of mine I have to first go into MySQLAdministration then the phpMyAdmin is in there. Search in your cpanel and you might find it. It was already available in both of the sites I have with different companies. Anyway, hopefully its there, if not maybe you can download it. ***Make sure you have made a backup of your database! Just in case. Then what you do is go into phpmyadmin and make sure you are in the correct database if you have more then one on your site. You will see several tabs on the top of a box and one will be Import or if that isn't there then click on the one that shows SQL. You should get a Browse button feature. Just browse for where the SQL file is on your computer for the contribution installation and click GO or possibly RUN and that is all! it should do what the file commanded it to do. You may also manually cut and paste the SQL file into the box, but I would prefer to browse for it. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more. Leslie Quote
