admin password lost during move?

Hi everybody,

I am trying to move my shop from one server to another. Right now I have it running on two sites: one live and one dummy.

My problem is that the admin password doesn't work at the (new) dummy site. There was another thread the other day about retrieving the lost password by manipulating the 'administrators' table in the database. However, I don't HAVE an 'administrators' table. Neither in the dummy site, nor in the live one. And the password still works in the live one.

What can be wrong? Is there another way that osc can store the admin username and password?

Access to the admin area can be controlled by a admin login page or using an htaccess file.

If there is not an administrators table in the db then it is secured by an htaces file. In this case go to your ISPs dmin area and look for an option like "password protect directories". You can reset the password for the admin directory there.
