Product Category in Index Problem

Hey all,

 

This is my first time building a shopping cart (i'm novice!!!) and I added a contribution http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2125 which is code for categories to be displayed on the front page in the main text area. When i click on the link, the page doesn't display the product info? i noticed that it displays the index link. But having no programming background I don't know how to manipulate the main_catergories.php file included in the download.

 

Can any one help please?
