Guest Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 I have won the weird OsCommerce error of 2002. I logged into my admin panel and saw this. Before anyone asks - havent touched a thing to the admin side of things. Check this out and if anyone can help let me know. The image speaks for itself :( anyone help?
rossdev Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 Yes that is weird.. you seem to be having a lot of problems lately. Have you been messing with the code? and on a side note (and don?t take this personally) looks like business has been slow. Guess it?s time to do some advertising. Brian.
Guest Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 Far from it :-) we do both ebay and webshop and it hasnt stopped since going live :-) Sort of curious why you think that? Also - after a month we delete orders in the database :-) - so hence why it looks like little orders. Maybe that's the reason why it's botched up. As for problems - yep - for 1 month - no problems at all - then - hell breaks loose - I am convinced that development really means development.
rseigel Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 Ok, now I'm curious. Why would you delete orders after a month? I can't think of a good reason why I would but I assume you have your reasons.
rossdev Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 I just was looking at your screen shot and noticed the orders. Just being nosy than anything else! :D Brian.
Guest Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 Well we thought after we had 140 orders for the first month that it was getting a little complicated. We have now realised the error of our ways. We have also set up another oscommerce site with giftcertificates, coupons and a rearranging of the site. I was actually thinking before we launched - wouldnt it be nice to make an order - I spoke to soon :) So if anyone argues - does oscommerce make u money? Answer is yes for us and I hope yes for everyone of you! Rossdev - yep I'd do the same as well  Rsiegel - we are silly I know - we thought it would be a good idea.
mattice Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 Orders cancelledOrders awaiting payment etc.. Doesn't look stock osCommerce to me. Who made this shop? Like Rossdev said... you have (had) a LOT of troubles with it. (Don't get me wrong, not saying I get tired of it, just curious as to WHY it is so unstable...) Regards, Mattice "Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them"
Guest Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 i think the bulk of the problems happened when our hosting provider moved from one server to the next - since then hell has broken loose. We had it working without a problem. We asked our service provider why did u move without our permission, and they said "read the fine print :(" So yep - since the move - cant see orders, emails are not being sent out - and basically it is in a mess - we have resorted to the old - print and process method :( To combate this problem - at the end of the year we are switching to the latest version with wishlist and giftcertificates etc. We will reduce the amount of products and see how it goes. As for orders cancelled, orders awaiting payment - it's Sept Snapshot - and you mattice of all people should know how easy it is to change order status in Oscommerce :D
mattice Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 As for orders cancelled, orders awaiting payment - it's Sept Snapshot - and you mattice of all people should know how easy it is to change order status in Oscommerce :D osWhat? Who? What do you mean? Where am I? It was my evil twin brother. He got hold of my login account here through psychic tantra while wearing my mom's dress. No wonder he got away with it. Once he logged in he was out of control... started to make dumb remarks and all... Don't worry, we locked him up in the basement again. Actually the neighbors basement but don't tell them that. On behalve of my whole family I sincerely apologize for this terrible event. :D "Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them"
Guest Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 You inspired me mate :D I am doing my instructions on the administration side of Oscommerce (post November) release. Basically OSCDOX tells u how to modify and install it - but no one actually tells you how to use it :-) I will send it out to the contributions once I have done my first 50 or so pages! As for your evil twin brother -   Just how evil is he? My evil twin brother has wrecked my database - so now its up the angelic twin brother (me) to sort it out! :-)
