Guest Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 1st off..this is a great site. I an new to PHP and was told that os commerce is best shopping cart software out there. I have started the install but I am getting an error message "Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client" when entering the database serever, user, password and database name. I am using IE7 and have set up all of the database info on GoDaddy.com. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing the hiccup here? thanks :-"
masat Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 You should probably go right to GoDaddy with your issue. If you are running the installation script GoDaddy should be able to help you. I believe this will be the quickest path to your issue solution. How do you know when you know what you want to do for the rest of your life?
Guest Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 I just spoke with Tech support at Go Daddy.com and they told me that oscommerce was only usable with a linux server. I have a window server with GoDaddy.com currently. Requirements for os commerce says any webserver (linux, windows; etc.) So does anyone know the Real truth? or how i can fix this problem? thanks
