energy69 Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Okay, i fairly new to this although I have spent quite a few days trying to find the answer and nothing seems to be working. I have osC 2.2 installed and EP 2.78. I have done everything that is supposed to be done, ie checked there's no quotes, tab delimited file (using Open Office). Placed EOREOR at the end of each row. Reconfigured Easy Populate. Made sure there was no special characters. I have read and re-read the Forums and tried everything that exists. I am getting the following Message when trying to Upload a TXT file. File uploaded. Temporary filename: /tmp/phpg4tjFi User filename: EP2008Feb2new.txt SIZE_EP33516 I have also FTP'd it into the temp folder which in in the catalog folder You can see the file I have for uploading here Product File for Upload You can also see my Easy Populate file there (I have change this into a HTML so you can view it by viewing the Page Source of the file) I am at a loss and am considering reinstalling 2.76 if this doesn't work although if you want to see the Full backend send me a PM and I'll give you the details All help gratefully appreciated. This store was meant to be up online last week and I baffled as to what I have done wrong. Sam Quote
krnl Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 The first thing I see in your product file is V_tax_class_title V_status These should be lower case. I'm not sure if EasyPopulate cares, but it's something to check. The rest of your product EP file looks about right to me. Something you could do is add a couple of products manually, then export using your easypopulate, then see what the file layout is from an export, then verify that your import file is modeled after the export file. Hi Krnl, Thank you for your fast response. I actually had changed those to lower case V although there has being so many different verisons that one has higher case V. Well noticed. I also have manually inserted 16 files fully and Exported the file and compared it to my own. One of the things that hit me does it make a difference when fields are left blank i.e. how those the tab delimited file know not to get mixed up when a row seems shorter, if that makes sense. Any other ideas is much appreciated. Thank You Quote
krnl Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 There will be empty tabs for empty spaces. Each tab delimits a column and EP understands it as such. So, if you have an EP file and one of the product descriptions has a <tab> character in it, the it will throw off that whole row because EP will think that tab delimits, and the description will spill over into the next column...and the rest of the columns in that row will be off as well. You should create your file in MS Excel and save it as tab-delimited text. Excel will take care of all of that for you. Quote
