Guest Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I have some e-books I want to provide as a free download. However, paypal is requiring something mor than $0.00 when custgomers checkout. If a customer pays with a check/money order, they can't instantly download the product. Can I make an e-book available as an automatic download when ordered? If so, is there another module I need to install to allow it to go through compeltely free, and have the customer be able to download it right away? Please help, I'll be waiting for ideas as I have orders to fill for this freebie and don't know how to fulfill them (I thought I coudl list a product as 0.00 but I guess not??) Sarah
sengratt Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 I'm having the same issue. Customers are required to enter credit card information or be sent off to Paypal even if the total dollar amount is $0.00. The only workaround that I've come up with in the meantime--in case you need to do something immediate--is to create a product that is $0.00, and inside the description of that product you can post links that download the free files from a folder you've created for that purpose. This is a nasty workaround, and in doing this you won't be able to track any data about the product since it is not officially going through any checkout process and statistical (database) updating. Other than that, I'm hopeful that someone can point to a contribution or an answer. Thanks, S
Guest Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/135 There are several others that might do what you want also but you will have to search the contributions for them, try searching for "downloads" :-"
