gammada Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I had my osCommerce store moved from one host to another but after the transition I'm unable to access the admin page with my username/ password. Did my homework trying to search for a solution but so far results refer to the following: The configure.php file which only lists my user name and password for the MySQL DB and someone suggested using phpMyAdmin but I can't seem to find the right table or place where this data is stored. Anyone could give me a hand? Thanks in advance
bobg7 Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 It depends on how you have your admin secured. If it's secured via .htaccess you will need to replace them or modify them using your new hosts control panel. If it secured via a contribution you will need to see how it works. If you using RC2 I think there is a db table called administrator, if you delete the entries then go to the admin page it will ask you for a new username/password. Installed Contributions: CCGV, Close Popup, Dynamic Meta Tags, Easy Populate, Froogle Data Feeder, Google Position, Infobox Header Entire Row, Live Support for OSC, PayPal Seal with CC images, Report_m Sales, Shop by Price Revised, SQL Updater, Who's Online Enhancement, Footer, GNA EP Assistant and still going.

Apparently my version uses the .htaccess security but the password listed there seems to be encrypted or something like that. Do you know of a way to reset it? BTW Many thanks for the pointers

gammada Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 As per bob's post If it's secured via .htaccess you will need to replace them or modify them using your new hosts control panel. Already went there but the htaccess file point to a couple of files: service.pwd y service.grp Both of them, list the username for the store and something that resembles and scrambled password, however I don't know how to generate another scrambled one, so I tried instead to replace the data with blank info. Still, whenever I go into the admin section, I'm asked for a username and pass. As I told you in my fisrt post, the username and pass are not missing but they're just not working. Please help me! Any other ideas?
gammada Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 Already solved this!! Resetting the username/pass combo using the password-protect folder feature on Cpanel worked flawlessly! After that, I just had to fix a PHP 5 incompatibility on the upload.php file at line 31. Many thanks for your help and pointers!
