How to make sub-category unclickable if it has no products

All,

 

Right now if a category or sub-category do not have any product, they will be linked to a default page. If I don't want to do that and just want to make the category not linked at all (so can not be clicked either). How can do it?

 

Any suggestion/direction will be appreciated!!

Thanks !! But I don't want to disable the category, I still want to show the category as usual, just want to remove the link to the product listing page

 

I looked at catalog/index.php, abd thinking that I might be able to remove the link if it knows that there is no products in the category . But so far I can not find where to change.
