How to Put a Flah Banner on Main Page top

Hi All,

 

I am trying to put a flash banner of size 410x286 on the main page center just below the header. I dont know where to put it. I tried to modify the index.php file with dreamweaver but no result. Please help me. And other issue......the greeting message is not appearing on my main page at all.

 

Please HELP me.........I will be grateful to you all.........
