donato Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 hey was just thinking, with a flood of mods and cvs updates daily wouldn't this be a cool feature so when u want to throw in some code upgrades, etc, all u have to do is to go to the Admin section, and shut down the shop for business while u do some up keep... many of the popular boards, have this feature. what u guys think?
Ajeh Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 The Quantity Controller I wrote has a Down for Maintenance option. But what I use is a second directory and copy of the database to make the changes or add on the features and then when it works ... just upload all the changed, or modified files in one swoop. You can also make a mini store ... /downformaintenance and change your configure.php file to redirect people there for during the upload of the changes.
